http://www.ribo.co.at/deniro/5943 Hello friends.

http://www.newmen.eu/pigils/niodjr/377 I thought I should let you know why I have been putting off posting anything on the blog. Since my last post, I’ve been experiencing some challenges on the blog (I suspect the update I did recently). For instance, I was unable to reply your comments individually because I didn’t get email notifications for any comment.I’m not even 100% sure my email subscribers got any notification for that post. I’ve tried every suggestions on the support forum to no avail. Have you experienced this, how did your sort it out? (I’ll very much appreciate any help you can share on this in your comments). I’ve reached out to WordPress support and my hosting providers for their help. Hopefully that gets resolved this week. In the meantime, I have been sewing and can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to with you. Continue reading “For your information only.”

Quilter’s Laundry Day Mini Quilt Blog Hop – The Big Reveal

http://www.mentzer-consult.de/?afinoes=wie-verdient-der-broker-bei-bin%C3%A4ren-optionen&72a=0b Welcome to everyone on the blog hop visiting here for the first time – Good to have you here and I hope you decide to look around and follow me on my adventure. My name is Sola and you can read all about me and my quilting journey http://libraryinthesky.org/?bioeser=citas-gratis-peru&354=de here and  Köpa Cialis på nätet here. For the regular visitors, welcome back for the big reveal of my secret sewing project…The Quilter’s Laundry Day Mini Quilt designed by Jen Rosin of A Dream and a Stitch (a free pattern available on Craftsy here) the blog hop is hosted by both Jen and Janice Holton of Color Creating & Quilting – Thanks Ladies (stop over and drop a comment on their blogs for your chance to win lovely prizes).

I really do love a challenge and trying out new things (at least in my quilting) as most of my previous creations would suggest. Therefore, when I came upon the call to join the blog hop and saw the beautiful pattern, I knew I had to give it a try. I remembered wanting to create the shadow mini quilt from the hop last year but I couldn’t.

I must confess though, that I almost gave up after downloading the pattern and seeing all those tiny pieces needed for the mini (16.5″). I’m afraid my brain doesn’t deal well with anything smaller than 2” unless it’s a long strip but this pattern had me cutting 1.5 x 2.5” pieces…pheww! In addition to that, I am terrible at labeling my pieces and not mixing up the pieces without labeling was a real trial! Fortunately for me, cutting and keeping track of the pieces were the only difficult part of the entire process, the rest of the steps went by like a breeze. This is all thanks to Jen for a pattern so clearly written, concise and easy to follow.

Mondays are for catching up…

Hiya!

As always after a brief break, it seems I haven’t been here forever! What have you been up to?

2 more sleeps till the month of February 2017 is gone forever but I don’t mind, I am actually excited. Why? well when I wake up after the 2nd sleep I’ll be a year older! 1st of March is my birthday and I am happily looking forward to it. It isn’t like I have any plans besides anticipating another year of my life that is. I had planned to have a giveaway but I haven’t gotten round to making any of the things. However, I’ll probably just keep it open for the entire month and that should give me plenty of time to make some things.

Another Work in Progress Wednesday

Remember my current work in progress is the wonky quilt-as-you-go Log Cabin. I showed you my progress in the last http://freejobseeker.com/punjab-police-recruitment-2017/ Post, as of today though, I have now made enough blocks for a baby quilt as contemplated. The quilt top is completely pieced and while I tried to choose an arrangement that best showcases the blocks, In the end I decided to go with the flow.

With the top now completed, it is time to look for a backing fabric. In the spirit of improvising though, I might make a pieced backing from the left over fabrics from piecing the top.

Quilt-As-You-Go Wonky Log Cabin Blocks

wonky log cabin

My sewing table didn’t make it home this past weekend after all but I did manage to get some sewing done with my stop gap setup. Anyway, remember my challenge for now is to quilt my stash of strip scraps and I have been doing just that with my experiments so far. This weekend I decided to take it a step further, probably because I was inspired by the idea of improv piecing from see Carole’s Book. What better way to get rid of some of my scraps than a fun log cabin block piece. To make it even more fun I figured wonky log cabin quilt was just the thing! I did say I particularly liked the color palette of my EPP project from  click Work in Progress Wednesday and  could likely make a quilt in that palette.English Paper Pieced Hexie

More so, I happen to have a lot of strips left in those fabrics so why not right? Continue reading “Quilt-As-You-Go Wonky Log Cabin Blocks”

Quick Catch up

EPP

Hi guys!

My machine works now yippee! Remember that work training I mentioned in my previous post? Well it required me travelling back to my former city, I called up my regular service guy and he was happy to look at my machine if I was willing to travel down with it. Duh…of course I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity even if it meant travelling heavier than I should. Long story short my machine is up and my table should be coming in this weekend hopefully…happy days. Continue reading “Quick Catch up “

Work in Progress Wednesday

Hexie

Hello! You already know I’m not doing enough sewing right now thanks to my machine deciding to malfunction at the most inconvenient time ugh! Speaking of the machine, the repair man did check it out on Saturday and got the wheel working but wait for it…it is still not functioning! This time it’s something with the top and bottom sync. The needle won’t pick the bobbin thread and when it does, it struggles to sew less than an inch before the thread breaks. He will come back to sort that out hopefully…fingers crossed that it works well after that ?. Continue reading “Work in Progress Wednesday”

This is really annoying!

Why oh why did it have to be today of all days! It was shaping out to be a great day you know. I got the day off work and after doing some cleaning chores, I figured I could try unpacking some of my sewing stuffs. I was planning to get started on a new project, anything at all to ease the restlessness caused by lack of activity! I emptied one bag of scraps into this laundry basket with the plan to sort them and probably work on a scrappy project.

Welcome to 2017…let’s get it started!

Hi Guys, can you believe it is two entire weeks of the New Year already gone? I can’t either!! That just shows how time flies. Anyhow, let me officially wish you a happy new year and welcome you to 2017. In my last post I briefly reviewed everything that went down last year especially in my Quilting and I did refer you back to my first post from 2016 where I made a list of commitments as against resolutions. I mean there is nothing wrong with making resolutions but I found out over the years that most times the excitement ends at making the list and most often than not it remains a list with no action or result to show.  Hence, decided instead on a list of short and achievable commitments. Subsequently, in addition to the commitments I made last year which are still very valid, I am adding a commitment to be more proactive and deliberate in the actions I take towards achieving my set goals for this year. Truthfully I can’t even say I have it all planned and figured out yet but I am consciously noting what http://teentube.cz/?ertye=pensamientos-para-hombres-solteros&819=23 would be nice to and what http://havanatranquility.com/daeso/3400 must be achieved in my quilting and general life.
