Thank you so much for all your warm birthday wishes and for making my day very special!
Unfortunately, I keep getting disappointments regarding the delivery of my sewing table. At this point, I have resigned myself to patiently waiting for the delivery whenever it comes through. Consequently, I am not getting a lot of sewing done as my stop-gap setup is not the most convenient and piecing or small quilting is all I can do.
Anyway, I completed the Wonky Log Cabin Baby Quilt a while back like I mentioned in previous posts hereand here. Over the weekend I made an attempt to photograph it. Now I can finally reveal the finished Quilt, I have to say I absolutely love this one, probably because I enjoyed the process of making it so much 🙂 Continue reading “It’s a wrap…First Finished Quilt of 2017”
As always after a brief break, it seems I haven’t been here forever! What have you been up to?
2 more sleeps till the month of February 2017 is gone forever but I don’t mind, I am actually excited. Why? well when I wake up after the 2nd sleep I’ll be a year older! 1st of March is my birthday and I am happily looking forward to it. It isn’t like I have any plans besides anticipating another year of my life that is. I had planned to have a giveaway but I haven’t gotten round to making any of the things. However, I’ll probably just keep it open for the entire month and that should give me plenty of time to make some things.
My sewing table didn’t make it home this past weekend after all but I did manage to get some sewing done with my stop gap setup. Anyway, remember my challenge for now is to quilt my stash of strip scraps and I have been doing just that with my experiments so far. This weekend I decided to take it a step further, probably because I was inspired by the idea of improv piecing from Carole’s Book. What better way to get rid of some of my scraps than a fun log cabin block piece. To make it even more fun I figured wonky log cabin quilt was just the thing! I did say I particularly liked the color palette of my EPP project from Work in Progress Wednesday and could likely make a quilt in that palette.
Phew…I’m not even sure what I need to write about but I certainly have to break the jinx so a random musing on what’s been going on with me lately it is. If you recall, I mentioned I might have to be less frequent here due to other commitments. However, I didn’t intend to be away this long or maybe I did but totally intended to be busy with other things the entire time. I thought I had it all figured out, I’ll complete another quilt, finish a tutorial and some posts I’ve been putting off and whatever else came in view. Instead I have been so tired and unmotivated that I could barely do more than lay down and read novels at the times when I’d normally be quilting.
Let’s just say I have been in a lull these past weeks and at some point I started stressing about the fact that I wasn’t doing much. Do you know that feeling when you know what you should be doing but you just couldn’t get up to do it to save your life? No? Well that was me most of the time. Continue reading “Random Musings”
Yes I have…moved on to a new project *insert any cheeky smiley here*. Remember that post about procrastination? turns out I’m back right where I started …creatively procrastinating! Meanwhile, I am giving myself a major pat on the back for successfully quilting this giant quilt with spirals that seems to literally take forever and thus completing the Quilt top! Now it’s time for that horrific part of the quilting process…Basting! If you have been following my Quilting process series then you know the next post should be about basting and quilting but for the life of me I can’t come up with a strategy for that post. I’m worried it will be such a lamentation that might scare a fellow beginner quilter to death and we definitely don’t want that *gasps*! Continue reading “I’ve moved on!”
I am really glad you are here, thanks for stopping by like I always end my blog posts! On one of those random days I actually decided to scroll through my WordPress reader, something interesting caught my eye. Someone had posted about a New Quilt Bloggers group and I wanted to find out more. I definitely found out more and while I didn’t think I was even qualified to participate based on the stated requirements, I filled the form anyways and I have to say that’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve made all year! Fast forward couple of months later and here we are, it’s finally my turn on the Blog hop but first, a big thank you to the hosts of this 2016 New Quilt Bloggers advisory group Stephanie @Late Night Quilter (I belong to Stephanie’s hive and we are the Hive Sewciety) Yvonne @Quilting Jetgirl, and Cheryl @Meadowmist Designs. Please stop over at their blogs to find out more about other new Quilt bloggers and for your chance to enter amazing giveaways by the sponsors. I am currently reading a book titled “Ready, Set…PROCRASTINATE: 23 Anti – Procrastination Tools designed to help you stop putting things off and start getting things done by Akash Karia”. I signed up for Amazon Audible last year and got this book before cancelling my subscription. Anyway, I’ve had this book in my library since then and while I listened to the first few chapters and thought what a good book it was, I’ve been unable to complete it thanks to procrastination…Ironic isn’t it :). Few days ago, I randomly picked up where I left off and the chapter I’d just started was really hitting the nail on the head and I could totally relate with every scenario being painted…call it fate or coincidence if you will, all I was thinking is wow I really needed to hear that, I was totally feeling the vibe ;).
