F is for Finished…Friday Finished Quilt Reveal.

Happy New month friends, it’s already a week gone in the new month and I haven’t been here but I promise I have so many exciting things to share with you I don’t even know where to start. Let’s get right to it shall we?

Remember the color theory experiment I did on that baby quilt first mentioned here? I said it’s one of those love it or hate it color combinations and I kept second guessing myself all the while I was working on this project. Guess what, it is now a completed project and I absolutely love it, so much I can easily say it’s one of my favorite finishes. This was such an enlightening project in so many ways, I learnt to stop second guessing myself and just take a chance. It was also interesting to see the transformation that took place as I quilted this.

To quilt this, I chose the variegated pink Aurifil 50wt thread to match the variegated pink fabric in the top and orange to match my backing in the Bobbin

I chose to stipple all over in order to add some texture while giving the quilt top the chance to do all the work.

Quilted baby quiltIt is safe to say this was an altogether nice finish. I need not say more about how much I love my fabric choices for this. The back of the quilt is my absolute favorite especially in its simplicity.

The quilt refused to stay up and I had to hold it the rest of the way! Good thing I had help with my photography. plus it’s been a while I took a quilty selfie 🙂

Thank you all for your concern and wishes for that email notification challenge. I have discovered the issue is peculiar to that Quilter’s Laundry Day blog hop post (still don’t know why). However, the comments have been coming through just fine on the other posts. I can now rest easy knowing this is probably a one off but I shall keep exploring solutions in case this ever happens again.

I did say I have so much to share with you but it will have to go in another post. I’ll give you a clue though, it has to do with my sister visiting for 2 weeks and the cheeky picture below:

Can you tell I had so much fun photographing this quilt?

As always, thanks for stopping by and leaving your lovely comments! I wish you so much quilty fun this weekend. I’ll be rounding up another baby quilt over here. I’ll be linking up with:

I was so excited to hear that you are in Nigeria quilting away!! I have a special place in my heart for Nigeria and Niger. That is where I grew up and went to school. I also love to quilt and I learned to sew out of necessity. Anyway, congratulations on your beautiful quilts!! Sue
