I am still on my annual leave and no, I didn’t travel anywhere fancy but I did travel to go be with my husband who works in another city which is just what I needed. Usually when I travel, I don’t go with plans to do any active sewing as I travel without my machine but I always have a bag of English paper piecing (EPP) kit to go. I have now relocated my spare machine to be permanently here, however, I still planned to do more English Paper Piecing and I found this old grid paper…a memorial from beginner’s class. I had made a mistake on this particular one so I tossed it aside, that’s all I have left of this isometric grid paper that I have looked everywhere online for as I recently discovered another use for it.(I’ll be sharing that in another post)Read more: A Box full of Junk
I know, I know! I said the next time I post about this it will be completed but that’s not happening anytime soon because I won’t have access to my full sewing space for a while, I’m still on my annual leave. I am however posting a quick picture of my achievements so far and in this post basting your quilt I mentioned I won’t be Quilting this as I go like I have been doing with my other projects. That means the Quilt top is now completed and I might then stick to my promise of not posting about this again until it is completed but I seriously doubt that 😉 I foresee another post while basting this so fingers crossed for now.Read more: Piecing Completed on “Nautical”
This was supposed to be part of my #workinprogresswednesday post and for some reason I keep feeling like it’s Wednesday today…so let’s just go along with it shall we?
I recently moved on to a new project after unashamedly abandoning my previous project due to the fear of basting at least for now 🙁 . In the previous post about my new project which I have decided to name “Nautical” …thanks Tierney 🙂 I shared my fabric choices, my chosen pattern and progress as at the time of the post. Today I’m just going to post a quick update of what I’ve done so far.Read more: “Playing Along”: A work in Progress
Yes I have…moved on to a new project *insert any cheeky smiley here*. Remember that post about procrastination? turns out I’m back right where I started …creatively procrastinating! Meanwhile, I am giving myself a major pat on the back for successfully quilting this giant quilt with spirals that seems to literally take forever and thus completing the Quilt top! Now it’s time for that horrific part of the quilting process…Basting! If you have been following my Quilting process series then you know the next post should be about basting and quilting but for the life of me I can’t come up with a strategy for that post. I’m worried it will be such a lamentation that might scare a fellow beginner quilter to death and we definitely don’t want that *gasps*!Read more: I’ve moved on!
Eid Mubarak! Happy Eid- el- Fitr to all the Muslims around the world…Have a good one!
The Nigerian Federal Government announced Tuesday the 5th and Wednesday the 6th of July as public holidays for the celebration of Eid-el-Fitr which marks the end of the Muslim fast…*I did my happy dance*. I’ve been so behind on my current projects thanks to work and the fact that I’ve been away from home for the past 2 weeks with absolutely no sewing. Consequently, I was overjoyed at the thought of 2 days uninterrupted quilting “all things being equal” and believe me a lot can go wrong to change that for instance, there might be no electricity…Yes you read that right! I still live in that part of the world where uninterrupted electricity is a dream waiting to be fulfilled!Read more: Sighting of the moon and a work in Progress
