Another Work in Progress Wednesday

Remember my current work in progress is the wonky quilt-as-you-go Log Cabin. I showed you my progress in the last Post, as of today though, I have now made enough blocks for a baby quilt as contemplated. The quilt top is completely pieced and while I tried to choose an arrangement that best showcases the blocks, In the end I decided to go with the flow.

With the top now completed, it is time to look for a backing fabric. In the spirit of improvising though, I might make a pieced backing from the left over fabrics from piecing the top.

Here is what the finished quilt top looks like:

I’ll let you know how I get on with this. How was your Valentine’s day…did you do anything special? I didn’t, just a relaxed evening with the husband – but I got some sewing done so I guess technically I did 🙂

It’s such fun seeing what everyone is sharing. What’s the trending color this quarter? Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your week.

Sola 🙂

  1. Very pretty color combination. This will make a wonderful baby quilt.

As to Valentines Day, we were able to get out for a walk in unseasonably nice weather. Other than that we didn’t mark the occasion.

    1. Thanks Tierney. I think grey is my favorite neutral. It’s not as stark as black or white. This color palette is new for me but I’m delightfully surprised with how it turned out.
